David Deakins
David Deakins
David paints with a roller and palette knife. His style owes much to the texture and consistency of the oil paint he uses. Interesting skies are achieved with a roller, and woodland scenes enhanced by the use of rag and paper in the foreground of paintings. The scenes may change but the styles remain distinct.
Initially trained as a Marine Biologist, and furthered his career as Head of Biology at Churston Grammar School, he combined teaching and painting professionally, though he took early retirement to give more time to his art.
