After initial training in horticulture three years in the RAF and two years with Ilford films at Brentwood be joined ICI on Teeside and remain with the company for 27 years.

All his life transport has fascinated him especially railways, was natural therefore for transport to be the earliest subject for his other hobby painting. It all began to take on more importance when he attended evening classes at Hartlepool College after receiving encouragement from his family, the collegues at ICI he had his first one man Exhibition at the Gray Art Gallery Hartlepool in 1970. Many exhibitions followed. ‘Artist in residence’ on the QE2 and National Railway museum in the past, and other liners. Elected to full membership of prestigious ‘Guild of Railway Artists’. All paintings below are ORIGINALS not prints.
